Storage Hendon Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Storage Hendon in recognition of our responsibilities under applicable modern slavery and human trafficking legislation. It outlines the steps we take, and are committed to taking, to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking do not occur within our operations or our supply chains.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Storage Hendon operates a strict zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced or bonded labour, child labour, and exploitation. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings, and to implementing and enforcing systems and controls designed to prevent modern slavery occurring anywhere in our business or supply chains.
All employees, contractors, and suppliers are expected to share this commitment. We will not knowingly enter into or maintain relationships with any party that engages in, or is complicit in, modern slavery or human trafficking practices.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Storage Hendon provides storage and related services and works with a range of suppliers, including facilities management, construction and maintenance contractors, security and technology providers, and providers of goods and services that support the operation of our sites.
We recognise that certain sectors and geographies may present higher risks of labour exploitation. We therefore apply proportionate due diligence and monitoring, focusing attention and resources on areas of greater potential risk within our supply chains.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We are committed to working only with suppliers who uphold standards consistent with our own. As part of our supplier due diligence process, we seek to:
Assess the ethical and labour standards of key suppliers, including their policies on modern slavery and human rights, before entering into or renewing contracts.
Include requirements in our supplier arrangements that obligate suppliers to comply with applicable modern slavery legislation and to maintain appropriate controls and oversight in their own supply chains.
Conduct periodic audits or assessments of selected suppliers, which may include requesting documentation, reviewing their policies, and, where appropriate, conducting site visits or third-party verifications.
Where non-compliance or concerns are identified, we expect prompt corrective action. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate relationships with suppliers that fail to address issues relating to modern slavery or serious labour violations.
Training, Awareness, and Responsibilities
Responsibility for implementing this statement sits with the senior management of Storage Hendon, who oversee our approach to ethical business conduct. Managers responsible for procurement, facilities, and supplier management are required to consider modern slavery risks within their areas.
We provide appropriate information and guidance to relevant employees to help them identify potential indicators of modern slavery and understand how to report concerns. Our aim is to build awareness and encourage a culture where questions about labour practices can be raised openly and responsibly.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Storage Hendon encourages anyone working for us or with us to speak up if they suspect that modern slavery or human trafficking may be occurring in our operations or supply chains. Concerns can be raised through established internal reporting routes, including line managers or senior management, or via any designated whistleblowing or escalation channels that operate within our business.
All concerns raised in good faith will be taken seriously and handled sensitively. We will investigate allegations promptly and, where appropriate, take corrective action and engage with relevant authorities. We do not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against anyone who raises concerns about modern slavery or unethical conduct.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that the risks of modern slavery can evolve over time. Storage Hendon is committed to continuous improvement and to strengthening our policies, processes, and controls as needed to combat modern slavery and human trafficking.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed annually by senior management to assess its effectiveness, reflect any changes to our operations or supply chains, and incorporate lessons learned from audits, investigations, or engagement with stakeholders. Where appropriate, we will update our practices and communicate any significant changes to relevant employees and suppliers.
This statement has been approved by the management of Storage Hendon and represents our ongoing commitment to uphold human rights and ethical labour standards throughout our business and supply chains.
